In our experience sharing 'stuff' with people is terribly British. A cup of sugar. Yesterday's newspaper. The lawn mower. We give freely and willingly - if we gain something in return, well, so be it. But one good turn usually means somewhere, sometime, someone will say "They're jolly nice chaps, those folk at Talbots".
And that's enough for us.
